BDPA Cleveland empowers underrepresented communities to thrive in technology through skill-building, mentorship, community leadership, and innovation.
Rooted in a legacy of advancing diverse tech talent since 1975, we strengthen professional pathways, expand access to opportunity, and accelerate tech inclusion across Greater Cleveland and beyond. By combining hands-on support with high-tech tools, we help students, professionals, and allies grow, connect, and lead—uplifting ourselves and our communities in an era when equity and representation matter more than ever.
Our National Legacy
Founded in 1975, National BDPA (Black Data Processing Associates) was established to advance the careers of Black professionals in the data processing field and expand access to technology in underserved communities. BDPA Cleveland, launched in 1980 as the third chapter in the nation, proudly continues this legacy. Today, we’re part of a powerful network of 30+ active chapters transforming the future of tech through diversity and leadership.
Our Work in Action
BDPA Cleveland’s future is powered by bold, inclusive experiences that uplift and equip the next generation of tech leaders.
These powerful programs—and the members who power them—are shaping a more inclusive, innovative tech future for everyone.
