About BDPA

BDPA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a diverse tech community and has been cultivating exceptional tech talent since its inception in 1975. Originally known as Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA), the organization continues to drive excellence in tech talent development. As a key strategic partner in business ecosystems across the nation, BDPA plays a crucial role in enhancing, accelerating, and diversifying tech talent pipelines in cities nationwide. The Cleveland Chapter, established in 1980, operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

BDPA empowers underrepresented Black tech professionals by expanding access to jobs, business opportunities, and career advancement—helping those who might otherwise be overlooked or marginalized to achieve success. Additionally, BDPA enables diverse communities to participate more equitably in tech employment, entrepreneurship, and economic prosperity.

As BDPA approaches its 50th anniversary in 2025, the connection between Tech Talent Excellence and BDPA is becoming increasingly clear.
